For the first time in the history of Color Zoom –Goldwell’s prestigious international hair competition– the 2018 Global Zoom event held this week in Toronto, Canada saw all three categories scooped by not only the same country, but by the same salon in the same town!
For the hair industry in the modest town of Apeldoorn in The Netherlands it was a creative achievement that is unlikely to ever be equalled; never say never, but for Color Zoom participants from the same salon to win all three categories: Creative, New Talent and Partner is an incredible result by anyone’s reckoning! The announcement of the Global Zoom competition winners was just one of the highlights over two days of extraordinary shows, artist sessions and celebrations of creative excellence on the part of all participants at this year’s event. Also included was the world premiere of Goldwell’s 2019 Color Zoom Collection – REMIX.
The 2018 Global Zoom Event opened its doors to hands-on hair demos at its Academy Sessions:
The Color Zoom Creative Team, which included the 2017 Global winners, gave an insight into REMIX, presenting technical insights of the new 2019 Color Zoom Collection. The Master Design Team presented the most fashion-forward designs from Goldwell’s signature programme, focusing on cut, styling and color. Global Cutting Ambassador Jay Mahmood and the team showcased haircuts from the Master Stylist Programme alongside Rodica Hristu, whose colour expertise brought to life the Master Colorist Programme. The KMS Style Council delighted the audience with initial insights about STYLECOLOR. Across the two days, the team showcased a variety of cuts and styles with amazing colour effects to enhance the looks.
The @Pure Pigments Team, Rebecca Hiele and Lindie Blackwell, presented models whose customised colours displayed unprecedented shine, vibrancy and colour brilliance, displaying how @Pure Pigments can be used within the daily salon routine. Mario Krankl, the world champion hairstylist, presented his unique creations, up-dos and avant-garde styles during this fashion-forward Artist Session. Mazella & Palmer, who are renowned globally in the salon industry for ground breaking education and artistry, took to the stage to give insight into the inspiration behind the cutting and colouring techniques for some of their most iconic collections, with incredible video concepts and live model demonstrations.
