How To: Katy Perry’s Glam Blueberry Haircolor by Rick Henry

We are totally crushing on Katy Perry’s gorgeous “blueberry crush” hair-color by her Nine Zero One Salon celebrity hairstylist Rick Henry. Learn HOW-TO!

Henry used Joico Color Butter again (following her Cherry Blossom Pink with Color Butter in Tokyo) to give the superstar a striking and fresh new look for the European leg of her tour at her first stop, Cologne, Germany!

But this is no “secret crush!” Below is his Color Butter formulation for this temporary pop of color that Henry added to Perry’s blonde (courtesy Blonde Life™). …And if you want a semi-permanent version, there’s the Joico Color Intensity hair-color conversion formula too!

Rick Henry’s Joico Color Butter application formula:
● 1/2 oz of Joico Color Butter Purple mixed with 2 oz of Joico K-PAK Intense Hydrator to dilute Color Butter to the perfect purple tone Henry and Katy Perry were looking for (right on trend for Pantone’s Color of the Year!)
● Apply to Clean wet hair – let it process for 10 minutes, then rinse, light shampoo and then style. Henry recommends spraying Joico Body Shake or Hair Shake and lightly tousle with fingers, to achieve Katy’s perfectly imperfect look.

For longer-lasting color use Color Intensity Semi-Permanent Color
● Conversion Formulation: 2 oz Clear + 1/4 oz Indigo
● Apply to level 10 blonde hair and process for 20 minutes – Voila! …Beautiful, shiny and healthy, eye-catching color.
