How To: 3 Holiday Braided Hairstyles by Anthony Cole

The holidays are officially upon us, and Sebastian Professional’s International Lead Stylist Anthony Cole has create three great chic, easy to do braids that will be sure to dazzle whether you’re at a family dinner, or a festive holiday party!

Below, Anthony tells you how to get these runway approved looks:

1. The Hair Look: Braid Within A Braid
Step 1: On damp hair mist Sebastian Trilliant, then apply Sebastian Mousse Forte; blow dry clean and straight.
Step 2: Take an off-centered section starting from half inch to 1 inch past the crown of the head and tuck it away. On the left side, starting from the temple, take a diagonal section all the way from the temple to the nape of the neck and tuck away.
Step 3: Brush the remaining hair into a side part and put into a temporary ponytail while creating your 2-strand braid at the part and at the temple using Sebastian Eruptek.
Step 4: Fasten both braids at the bottom, leaving them loose.
Step 5: Remove temporary ponytail and brush hair, as if you would pony everything together (including the 2 braids). Then take 4-strand sections making a woven 4-strand braid all the way through and fasten at the bottom
Step 6: Rub Sebastian Eruptek onto the braid and open it up and achieve explosive texture and expansive volume in the look. Make the braid flat and wide to give it a woven, dry look. Finish with Sebastian Zero-Gravity and over lay Sebastian Shine Shaker for a soft shine.

2. The Hair Look: Mermaid Braid
Step 1: Blow dry hair with Sebastian Professional Mousse Forte in a left side part leaving the hair clean and smooth into a side ponytail
Step 2: Fasten the ponytail with a band and take Sebastian Professional Texture Maker and spray it into the ponytail
Step 3: Apply Sebastian Professional Craft Clay to palms and warm up before making a fishtail braid using the clay as created
Step 4: Spray Sebastian Professional Re-Shaper hairspray to make the braid look tethered
Step 5: Using copper wiring, place the wire randomly throughout the braid to break it up
Step 6: Finish with Sebastian Professional Zero Gravity for hold

3. The Hair Look: Bun Braid
Step 1: With a round brush, blow-dry hair straight with Sebastian Professional Whipped Crème for light conditioning
Step 2: Spray Sebastian Professional Trilliant for heat protection. Using a flat iron, straighten the hair for an ultra-sleek and shiny look
Step 3: Recession to recession, at a highpoint of the head, section off a square section of hair
Step 4: Pull the remaining hair back into a low ponytail at the nape of the neck and secure with an elastic
Step 5: Apply Sebastian Professional Texture Maker and Microweb Fiber to the square section at the top
Step 6: Taking that section, create a four-strand braid either side of the head
Step 7: Gently tug on the sides of the braid to create a full appearance and secure with bobby pins
Step 8: Finish with Sebastian Professional Zero Gravity hairspray
