An unexpected announcement took place in the notorious Salón Look Madrid 2017 trade show which left the industry shaking with excitement! The International Hairdressing Awards® will take place in Madrid and the major presentation of this exciting new venture was presented yesterday!
The International Hairdressing Awards® showed their power on November 5th, explaining the project’s main pillars: six categories, a jury composed by internationally renowned hairdressers, a catwalk with the most important teams of the world, and a purple carpet, the red carpet of global hairdressing.

Launched within the framework of the Effervescence Show at Salón Look Madrid 2017, the aim of these new awards is to become the event of reference in global hairdressing industry, the awards where all the awards converge, powered by hairdressers. Mikel Luzea, founder and director of the International Hairdressing Awards®, was in charge of launching this powerful venture.
The first edition of the International Hairdressing Awards® will start in 2018 with the collections entry and pre-nominees’ announcement. In November 2018, the finalists will be announced and the awards ceremony will take place in Ifema, Madrid, in January 2019, prior to Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Madrid.
Presented by Mikel Luzea, founder and director of the International Hairdressing Awards® and renowned Spanish hairdresser,
was accompanied at stage by Sergi Bancells, hairdressing journalist and general manager of the USA, Spanish and
Latin American editions of Estetica. During the presentation, Ángela Venegas, Iberia Commercial Director Revlon Professional,
and Julia González, Salón Look Madrid director, also took the stage and shared their commitment to this grandiose
hairdressing project that will place Madrid as the hairdressing world capital.
