The 2017-2018 AIPP Awards Ceremony was held during the world’s most renowned hairdressing event, the Alternative Hair Show at the prestigious Royal Albert Hall in London.
An enthusiastic audience of more than 5,000 hairdressers from all around the world honored the artistic achievements of five internationally acclaimed hairstylists: Sanrizz (UK), Amparo Carratalá @ Toni&Guy (Spain), Mark Leeson (UK), Jason Hall (UK) and Candice McKay @ Wyatt Hairdressing (South Africa).
The AIPP and the Alternative Hair Show also had the grand pleasure of presenting the coveted International Legend Award to the world-acclaimed hair icon Patrick Cameron. Cameron was presented the award by Roberto Pissimiglia, President of the AIPP, and industry legend Robert Lobetta. Patrick is acknowledged by the global beauty community as the world’s most renowned long hair expert. Renowned for his skills in dressing long hair, Patrick is also the consummate professional, inspiring hairdressers with his unique blend of education and his fantastic ability to make even the most complex hairstyle look easy. Educating hairdressers throughout the world in the art of dressing long hair has allowed Patrick Cameron to create a unique place for himself in hairdressing’s international hall of fame.
Hosted by Linda Evans & Roberto Pissimiglia, at the 21st annual AIPP Awards Ceremony event, Sanrizz (UK) won the Best Commercial Award for their beautiful collection ‘Drift’; Amparo Carratalá @ Toni&Guy (Spain) grabbed the Best Avant-Garde Award for her fascinating collection ‘Fabrics’; Mark Leeson (UK) earned the Best Photography Award for his awe-inspiring collection ‘Portrait’ shot in black & white; Jason Hall (UK) won the Best Men Award for his ’Strange Times’ collection made of appealing male styles; and Candice McKay @ Wyatt Hairdressing (South Africa) conquered the Best Video Award for a very dynamic and creative video showing her latest collection, ‘POW’. Award recipients were voted by the AIPP Magazine Members throughout the world over last month. This year participation was impressive, having received 732 photo collections from 42 countries all around the globe!!!
What follows now is the AIPP Grand Trophy 2017-2018, where the 5 winners of the AIPP Awards compete against each other to become the over-all winner by sending in their Fall-Winter Collections. The AIPP Grand Trophy 2017-2018 will be awarded next Spring 2018 in a prestigious venue still to be announced.
