Goldwell’s international hair event Global Zoom 2017, the amazing competition that is taking place in Barcelona (Spain), has crowned Mio Sota of Trio Salon (Chicago, IL) as Best Partner Colorist!
The other Gold winners are Dylan Tung (Singapore), Best Creative Colorist and Maxim Sotnikov (Russia), Best New Talent. The worldwide competition gathered almost 3,000 of salon professionals from around the world cheering on 97 global finalists from 38 countries. Cory Couts, Global President of Kao Salon Division welcomed the audience before John Moroney, Kao Salon Global Creative Director introduced the new Color Zoom 2018 collection, ELEMENTAL.
On Sunday, October 8th, the Global Zoom Event 2017 started with the Welcome Session, where Kao Salon Global Creative Director John Moroney and Global VP of Marketing Stephan Becker shared the latest news from Goldwell and KMS. The event encompassed celebration, creativity and inspiration with a series of seminars, amazing shows featuring hair icons like Global Haircutting Ambassador Jay Mahmood supported by the best talents from the Master Colorist Program, Master Stylist Program and the new Master Texture Program; Australia’s Most Awarded Hairdresser Shane Henning, Creative Director and owner of Noddys on King in Sydney; the KMS Global Style Council offered initial insights in the new KMS 2018 Campaign featuring the best of HighSTYLE and StreetSTYLE from the new global hotspots; and the Color Zoom ’17 Creative Team gave an insight into the ELEMENTAL Collection: Global Winners from 2016 Larissa Bresnehan, Sargis Airapetian and Daniel Rubin, along with Goldwell International Artists Agnes Westerman and Sascha Haseloff, presented the technical insight of the Color Zoom ’18 Collection.
The Global Zoom Event 2017 also included awesome parties in the most exciting spots in Barcelona – but the highlight of the weekend was the announcement of the Global Zoom Winners ’17. The challenge was to recreate their interpretation of the IN·FLUX trend collection live on a model in just three hours, and produce the most important artistic creations of their career.
The finalists paraded onto the Global Zoom main stage with their models, before the announcement of the three global winners who had demonstrated the most astounding hairdressing skills during the competition! “I can’t think of a better or more inspirational way to come together with our top clients from around the world than the Global Zoom Event. Every year it is a global gathering of some of the most creative stylists in the industry – sharing creativity and community in an inspirational city. Goldwell also announced that the Global Zoom competition comes back to North America in 2018, and it’s going to be held in Toronto (Canada)!
