Elevating the Industry: Sonya Dove joins Ulta Beauty in expanded Pro Team Creative Role

Ulta Beauty announced today the addition of Sonya Dove, one of the salon industry’s most respected hairstylists and colorists, to its salon services’ creative team.

As the newly named senior pro team member, Dove will work closely with Nick Stenson, chief artistic director at Ulta Beauty, in leading the company’s efforts in trend and stylist development. Dove will also offer services to her clientele at Ulta Beauty’s Santa Monica location.

Adding Sonya to our team is a reflection of Ulta Beauty’s ability to attract the industry’s top talent,” said Stenson. “We are beyond thrilled Sonya will be devoting more of her time and talents to us as we continue our key mission of elevating the profile of The Salon at Ulta Beauty as well as elevating our platform of artists supporting artists.”

Dove, global ambassador for Wella Professionals, will continue to serve on the Ulta Beauty Pro Team. Announced in May 2017, the Pro Team is a group of artists and educators from some of the industry’s top professional haircare brands –Redken, Matrix, L’ANZA and Wella– with over 100 years of combined experience. These professionals help educate and inspire Ulta Beauty stylists across the country to achieve their ultimate artistic potential.

Drawing from their extensive industry expertise, the Pro Team works together to bring The Salon at Ulta Beauty’s vision to life in photo shoots and support the company’s team of stylists with education and trend development. They also collaborate on editorial collections designed to highlight the talent and artistry of the team.

Ulta Beauty has created an education program that ensures stylists are set up for success to deliver quality services to each and every guest. The Pro Team works to enhance this programming by building trend collections and providing training for Ulta Beauty stylists across the country. Their efforts are complemented by the Ulta Beauty Design Team, who bring these collections to life for the company’s 80 educators who in turn, train Ulta Beauty’s 6500 stylists.
