Beginning his career as the first technical creative director for TIGI Italy, followed by the United Kingdom and ultimately in America on his own platform, Kandasamy has headlined shows from Taipei to Copenhagen, Argentina, Las Vegas and beyond.
In a journey that spans the course of 20-plus years, Kandasamy has quite literally colored the globe and brought an abundance of inspiration, education and financial growth to the professional haircare industry.
A native of the tropical Seychelles islands, Kandasamy is inspired by exotic color palettes, indigenous ingredients and global hair textures, laying the foundation for his new professional beauty line – RIKOKO.
“From a colorist perspective, I looked at what was missing in the market. I knew that coconut oil naturally seals the cuticle, heals the hair and locks in color, but of course that was just the beginning… We were in development for two years before we launched RIKOKO,” says Kandasamy.
