A Winning Streak! OMC Hairworld recognizes Estetica with Best Magazine Award!

What makes OMC Hairworld so special? Its the organization’s ability to attract talent from all the corners of the world, while setting them on a unique platform in a competitive environment. Known as the Olympics of Hairdressing, OMC Hairworld 2017 took place last weekend at Paris Expo Porte de Versailles.

Saturday night was the Reception of the Nations Cocktail Party also known as OMC Global Award Night, where industry leaders were honored for their contribution to the hairdressing profession. Amongst the top global awards given in this ceremony is Best Magazine Award, which was graciously handed by OMC World President Salvatore Fodera to Estetica’s Sergi Bancells, General Manager of Estetica USA, Spain & Latin America, who received the beautiful trophy in representation of the 22 international editions worldwide of the Estetica International Network!

This award recognizes Estetica Magazine’s work and appreciation for the hairdressing industry on a global basis,” said Salvatore Fodera, OMC World President. “For supporting events around the world dedicated to the craft like the OMC Hairworld competitions.”

This coveted award adds to the one Estetica Magazine received last May in Japan during Intercoiffure World Congress in Osaka/Kyoto.

Other OMC Hairworld recognitions included Lifetime Achievement Awards to Italian maestro Gigi Gandini and North American hair icon Ann Bray, as well Sponsor Awards to Wella Professionals, L’Oréal Professionnel and Takara Belmont.

The story of Estetica began in March, 1946 when Mino Pissimiglia founded the magazine in Turin (Italy). These few beautiful pages soon became the most respected magazine in the Italian hairdressing industry, later conquering worldwide markets too. In 1958, the magazine arrived in Japan, in 1962-63 it reached Peru, Latin America and the Middle East, and in 1977 the international Italian/English version was launched. In March 1991, the Estetica International Network project with local editions was announced: it began in the biggest European countries before extending to the USA and Asia. Produced in 23 editions, ESTETICA is now present in more than 60 countries with a circulation of 300,000 copies per issue.
