Celebrating exceptional hairdressing talent in North America, Wella’s coveted North American TrendVision Awards (NATVA) reached a new high this year in Los Angeles, a city synonymous with creativity, self-expression and design.
On Sunday July 23rd, 50 contestants from the United States, Puerto Rico and Canada and top hair stylists came together for an unforgettable evening at The LA Live Event Deck. Guests cheered for the finalists competing for the Gold, Silver and Bronze in each of the Student, Creative Vision and Color Vision categories using the Ultra Contouring by Optical Illusion SS’17 and New Norm by PastForward AW’17 trends as inspiration.
Taking Gold for the U.S. were Katie Manselle of Culture Hair Studio in Color Vision, Shirley Gordon of Strands Hair Studio in Creative Vision and Maria de Lourdes Valentin Narvaez of Modern Hairstyling Institute in Student.
Taking home top honors for Canada were John Carreiro of Carreiro The Studio in Color Vision, Daniel Grieco of Salon Gaboa in Creative Vision and Sandra Du of Texture Hair Salon in Student. And, taking home top honors for Puerto Rico were Jose Quinones of Peter Cardon Salon in Color Vision and Glory Aviles of U Salon in Creative Vision. The North American gold winners are on their way to represent the U.S., Puerto Rico and Canada respectively at the International TrendVision Awards staged in London in October 2017.
