For the 7th time, Hairist 2017 brought together Turkish hairdressers and students from 15 schools, as well as visitors from overseas, who were able to experience the country’s inspirational hair talent first hand.
Yeliz İştar, Şişli Vocational School’s departmental lecturer for hairdressing was joined on-stage by Estetica Turkey’s Editor-in-Chief, Erkan Güzel, to make the opening speeches. This year, the event presented countless unforgettable moments, while inspiring the audience with displays of exceptional creative talent. Hairist 2017 also provided a platform to showcase the Stylist and Cut & Colour categories and present the awards to the winners – an occasion which was also broadcast via the Internet:

Hüseyin Alkan together with Hakan İpekel will represent Turkey at the Alternative Hair Show Visionary Award competition in London later this year.
Ayşen Ensel, Education Director for Kérastase, and hairdresser, Emrah Kemendi, participated in a discussion on the difficulties that the Turkish hair industry is currently facing during a session entitled ‘What Hairdressing Can Promise’ session.
Mahmut Ebil, the owner of the Ebil Hair Design salon, was invited onto the stage, after being his salon was selected by Estetica Magazine and MCB as being among world’s finest in terms of interior design salons; as was the architect behind the Yasin Altıpat project.
The Estetica Honour of the Year Award was awarded to Habib Örs who has made a huge contribution to the growth and development of the hairdressing industry in Turkey.
