ColorProof Color Care Authority recently hosted its Artistic Specialist and Platform Artist teams in a comprehensive, two-day technical update training in Newport Beach, CA.
ColorProof’s Director of Education, Mary Wilson, led the 35 attendees from across the U.S. and Canada through a packed agenda focused on teaching the 2017 educational curriculum, trends and techniques while emphasizing comradery among the artists.
The event kicked off with a brand update, review of ColorProof’s class formats and a sneak peek at ColorProof’s upcoming new products. Then it was off to the beach for an evening barbecue and mixer, equipped with games to promote team building and a photo booth to capture the fun.
For day two, ColorProof Platform Artists Ruth Tedmori and Mel Paldino joined International Creative Director Phillip Wilson to deliver the inspiration and technical instruction behind the final two looks from SPECTRUM, ColorProof’s 2017 haircut and style collection. The looks, Go Long and Style to the Fullest, will be part of ColorProof’s education curriculum for the second half of the year and compliment Get in Formation and Cropped, which the team was trained on back in January. Then, the group broke out for hands-on training, designed to give each artist the proper tools and techniques needed to perform and teach the looks with confidence and consistency. Mary Wilson, and Vice President of Marketing, Kelly Beam, delivered business building tips and social media insights and taught the team how to bridge sales and education in their salons.
In addition, ColorProof held auditions and promoted eight Level 1 and Level 2 Artistic Specialists to the next level. And, as a bonus for ColorProof’s Platform Artists, ColorProof Founder, Product Developer and CEO, Jim Markham conducted a men’s haircutting workshop inspired by the styles he created for his celebrity clientele back in the 70’s including Paul Newman, Steve McQueen, Johnny Carson and Frank Sinatra, to name a few.
“I am constantly amazed and proud of the ColorProof Artistic Team,” says Markham. “Each year the team continues to grow and blossom. Under Phillip Wilson’s creative leadership, it is the strongest it has ever been. This training was an incredible success that left the artists inspired, energized and confident to take what they learned and educate stylists nationwide.”
