Participants came to “Look, Learn, Love” their work with Wella Professionals and Londa/Kadus Professional products during an inspirational mini-break in a stunning location.
May 16th to 23rd, 2017. Everyone’s calendars were marked for 7 days, 2 events, 6 shows, and 4 parties with 800 participants from 26 Countries, 4 International Artists, and 4 Regional Artists all in one place to express their PASSION for hairdressing at Destination 2017. Inspirational and energy levels that reached all-time highs, with everyone eager to learn and celebrate.
The perfect LOOK trip kicked off with Wella Professionals and its Top Artists, the caliber of Global Creative Director Christophe-Nicolas Biot’s show was thrilling. Yves Saint Laurent inspired the classic femininity of these styles, topped with gorgeous up dos based on the ‘classic chignon’ with a more contemporary and `perfectly imperfect` flair. Couture color was the focus of Dmitry Vinokurov’s performance, as he presented his eclectic collection day-to-night looks, using hair pieces to transform office-appropriate styling into avant-garde attitude live on stage.
There was a big surprise with a show from one of the newest brands to the family. ghd really went to town showing very a wide variety of techniques used to create 4 very different looks using ghd stylers. The Londa/Kadus event followed this first Destination act, where the an always amazing Alexey Osipchuk inspired the crowd with his own interpretation of an edgy street style balanced by some balance of urban chic.
The grand finale of the 2017 edition featured the star-studded duo of Gevorg & Kirill in this international venue taking a fresh look at trends, followed by Bert Kietzerow, who gave the audience a taste of what it’s like to be a session stylist working behind the scene at fashion shows and magazine shoots. His energetic and fast-paced show presented a whirlwind of live cuts and colors trending from NYC to Tokyo.
The 2 `Stage is Yours` winners opened each event, starting with Yildirim Ozdemir from Turkey, who demonstrated his technical prowess with his all white show, beautiful hair coloring and creative cutting on stage. Later, Bogdan Mirica from Romania opened for the Londa/Kadus Professional event with a historical glance at the past, from perfectly plaited to avant-garde. These two artists stand as a testament to the creative talent emerging every day in the hairdressing industry.
On the second day of each event, ‘Destinationers’ were also treated to Look & Learn sessions on smaller yet no less inspirational scale. This was an opportunity to ask important questions, share top tips, and exchange ideas about favourite products and colour formulas used to create not only the looks on stage but also every day in the salon.
