Redken 5th Avenue NYC just announced hair industry icon Josh Wood as its new Global Color Creative Director.
In his new role, Wood will serve as a spokesperson for Redken Haircolor, participate in Redken’s award-winning education initiatives and events, provide artistic direction on photo shoots, and offer his product development vision. He’ll also create inspiring haircolor looks for Redken’s models and muses, which will be showcased on our social media channels.
Considered the most influential and respected haircolorist in the world, Wood has been at the forefront of the hair and beauty industries for more than 30 years. The go-to colorist for today’s most influential celebrities, he’s credited with creating game-changing color techniques that set haircolor trends globally, including “hyper natural”, “making gray ok” and “surf kissed”. His work has been featured in high-profile editorial outlets including British, US and Japanese Vogue, W Magazine, Elle and Grazia, and he collaborates with top fashion houses including Louis Vuitton, Jean Paul Gaultier, Versace, and Marc Jacobs to create color looks for Fashion Month. His Ateliers in the UK (including Notting Hill and Barber & Parlour) serve as creative hubs where Wood brings his signature services to his clientele.
Wood joins Redken’s collective of renowned experts and trend creators, including Global Creative Director Guido Palau, the fashion world’s most visionary hairstylist who creates looks for 100+ fashion shows every year. As two fashion-world leaders known for their statement-making runway hair, Wood and Palau will continue to create the season’s top style and color trends, then bring those trends directly to salon professionals and consumers, alongside the international community of Redken Artists and Educators
