Schwarzkopf Professional launches their first International Trend Lab in Hamburg, Germany. This dynamic in-house production studio was created to produce highly-relevant industry content, in response to the latest trends spotted in fast-fashion and social media.

Understanding that clients expect hairdressers to be able to recreate the latest celebrity looks or influential blogger styles the moment they happen, the Trend Lab highlights Schwarzkopf Professional’s passion for hair, their dedication to salon business and continuous hairdressing education.

The custom-made Trend Lab environment blends together a premium loft-style salon and a state-of-the-art photography studio, allowing motivational content to be created in real time; live videos will be streamed to social media, utilizing platforms such as Facebook and Instagram Live.

The professional studio is fully equipped for holistic multi-channel content distribution:

  3. • Webinars with leading experts within our industry

This dynamic environment has been designed to tackle any trend, through a range of carefully selected accessories, beautiful vintage wood and interchangeable backdrops – including a stripped-back brick wall to reflect urban street styles and brightly coloured textiles to represent bolder looks.All of Schwarzkopf Professional’s brands will showcase their identity and various lifestyle characteristics in branded shoots and alluring social media content.

Hairdressers can expect to see real trends created on live models, via engaging how-to tutorials and product demonstrations, live-streamed on Schwarzkopf Professional’s social media channels. International Creative Director for Schwarzkopf Professional, Simon Ellis, describes the Trend Lab as “a real step-change in digital delivery” and a “brand-new channel that provides the opportunity to capture, connect and deliver education-based, real time hair and fashion trends, as they happen.

Available for registered users, exclusive Trend Lab content will be accessible on Schwarzkopf Professional’s state-of-the-art eLearning platform in the form of hairdresser-led webinars. This sustainable platform for excellence provides the latest Schwarzkopf Professional innovations and 360° salon support for hairdressers around the globe.

The official Trend Lab launch party took place on Monday the 10th of April in Hamburg, and was attended by a selective audience of international trend watchers, hairdressing experts and VIP guests. The evening included an intimate catwalk show, presented by Schwarzkopf Professional’s Global Ambassadors, Tyler Johnson and Lesley Jennison, whilst digital influencers Mikey Henger and Jeffrey Robert revealed some of the latest hair trends.

Giving a taste of what to expect from the Trend Lab, the closed audience was also treated to an impressive line-up of commercially relevant INSTA-looks, showcased on several models; including fashion bloggers Frida Mindt and Pola Fendel. Receiving a full colour and styling service, the star bloggers walked the catwalk to present their viral, on-trend looks, created with the latest Schwarzkopf Professional products.

Over the upcoming months, we can expect to see a diverse mix of trends and demos – ranging from vivid roots and festival braids, to graphic shapes and urban styling trends – from the Trend Lab. In addition, leading industry experts and Schwarzkopf Professional hairdressers will demonstrate versatile ways to use the continuously developing range of Schwarzkopf Professional products.
