Sola Salon Studios is proud to announce their support and collaboration with Eyes on Cancer this May during Skin Cancer Awareness Month. Sola is encouraging their stylists across the US to join this potentially life-saving movement!
As a part of Skin Cancer Awareness Month, Sola Salon Studios will be offering hundreds of their stylists a complimentary voucher for the unique training through their SolaPro App. Eyes on Cancer offers a program specifically designed for hairdressers and beauty professionals to recognize early signs of skin cancers, particularly melanoma, on the head and scalp. The $10, 30-minute online course will certify beauty industry professionals – educating them about what to look for, as well as how to share this information properly with their clients.
“As beauty professionals, we can save a life by addressing potential skin cancer early in areas only WE can see on a regular basis. Take this 30-minute course for yourself, family, friends and clients. I have personally saved a life and it feels amazing!” explains Jeanne Braa Foster, Vice President of Eyes on Cancer and renowned stylist/educator. Jeanne’s goal is to have Eyes on Cancer become part of cosmetology schools’ core curriculum and a mainstay in the salon/spa experience for early detection of skin cancer.
Sola Salon Studios will be debuting this initiative on stage at their upcoming Sola Sessions event on May 8th in Washington, DC.
Melanoma currently effects 3.3 million people each year according to the Skin Care Foundation. Sola Salon Studios is striving to bring awareness to stylist’s worldwide to enroll in the program.
The average beauty professional has the potential to see 120 cases of cases of skin cancer over their career, thus making a life-saving impact by sharing their observations with clients. Eyes on Cancer has a goal to enlist 20,000 salons and their teams to complete their Skin Cancer Awareness Course by 2020.
