Top 15 Looks from Intercoiffure America/Canada Spring Atelier 2017

The best US & Canadian hairstylists gathered in the romantic tropic of Boca Raton, FL to have their annual Intercoiffure America/Canada Spring Atelier, exchanging the love and ideas that are affecting the world of beauty, fashion, business and technology and we have the best 15 looks of the weekend for you to see.

The event began Sunday morning with a celebration led by Frank Gambuzza as President of Intercoiffure America/Canada (ICA), who reminded all attendees of the importance of being a family made of beauty pros. The 2017 Atelier focused on creating a complete agenda of presentations, seminars and conferences to inspire while educating the members on polishing their skills and return on investment of various aspects in the salon industry.

Creatively speaking, there was incredible work exhibited by major brands to forecast fashion in the professional beauty world.

The demonstration of coloring skills continued with Industry icons Dana Lyseng and Anna Vaul for Wella Professionals on Trending Contouring techniques and the quick methods to create current looks that do not lie within the regular spectrum or placement as much as traditional methods.

The Intercoiffure Nouveau Cut, Color & Texture Contest is the moment where the new generation of professionals take the stage in front of their, slightly, intimidating and industry-defining peers and put their skills to the test in the ICA Manstage. After a lot of work, were the winners of the event!

L’Oréal Professionnel was also a must-see with Heath Grout, Carrie Stotts, Amit Abraham, Pepper Pastor, Jo Blackwell Preston, and Min Kim, all onstage and all ready to shoot onstage for the audience to see what it takes to make a collection happen from the chair to social media in only a matter of minutes LIVE.

In addition, the conference by Paul Mitchell’s Jason Yates, Pete Castellanos and Robert Cromeans, provided valuable information and very interesting business tips to all attendees in her talk, “Business Unusual” where they highlight the anomalies of their brand history. Their place in the Paul Mitchell family gives them perfect insight on how the beauty industry is a place full of opportunity for the artists, entrepreneurs and salon professionals.

The legendary Sharon Blain finished the day onstage with a giant Goldwell bow, explaining how and why she creates with thread, and how to dominate length with mastery and expertise. At night, members blew off some steam in the lively graffiti party, where an all-white outfit was the norm and neon markers decorated their ensembles!

Monday was all about hands-on! There were two rooms in the exhibition hall that divided the fair into the different types of Hands-On Classes available to the elite. In one room, Sharon, continued the talk that closed Main Stage on Sunday about long-haired updos! She educated these members on her expertise, and gave softness to looks that carry a lot of weight. Members In the other room, Belinda Gambuzza and George Alderete lead a “Hands-On Cutting” seminar centered on color and the looks which have resulted in his prestigious looks within the organization.

Intercoiffure America/Canada Spring Atelier 2017 was a brilliant event to remember… and now, save the date for Intercoiffure America/Canada Fall Atelier 2017 in NYC: October 7-9 at the New York Hilton Midtown!
