Thai Awe-Inspiring Spectacle: Davines Hair On Stage Bangkok

The capital of Thailand, Bangkok, have welcomed more than 600 hairdressers members of the Davines community to offer them new unprecedented inspiration during the first Hair On Stage event in Asia.

The exotic yet ultra-metropolitan atmosphere, the charm of Buddhist temples, the possibility of going shopping, tasting unusual foods and diving into an intense and fascinating city gave rise to a combination of emotions culminating in truly special moments for the Davines community.

The venue of the event was the Asiatique The Riverfront, the beating heart of the city on the banks of the river Chao Phraya. The kick-off of Hair On Stage was the Welcome Dinner were all the guests were invited to celebrate Loy Krathong, i.e. “The Festival of Lights”, a charming celebration held during the full-moon night which fills the river and sky with lights.

The following started with stage performance of the top names in hairstyling. Starting from Davines International Artistic Director Angelo Seminara. Just awarded British Hairdresser of the Year 2016, Italian in origin but British indeed, Angelo knows how to inspire hairdressers worldwide with his creative strength and his immense passion for beauty. He presented the latest Davines Collection, Rebel, a mix of urban style and metropolitan looks to enhance the nowadays women’s natural beauty.

Kim Robinson and KR+ took the stage with the impressive performance called “Jennifer” that took inspiration from the actress Jennifer Tse of Hong Kong. The collection emphasized femininity adding confidence and elegance.

For Davines North America Master – Session Stylist, Joseph DiMaggio: the king in the backstage of New York fashion shows, he brought onstage his editorial projects: turban, hair decorations and glitters describes his idea of women’s beauty.

From Australia, the Carlton Hair Creative Team was headed by 2013 Davines World Style Contest winner, Christilene Erasmus-Bush. The team have set the latest cutting-edge fashion in hair trend that can be worn by every women.

Then it will be the turn of the stylists of the Rikyu salon to take to the stage. They brought to the event a perfect combination of Japanese aesthetics and Thai culture. The theme presented was “Origami” – they have fold, flip, slide, the hairs to experiment with the vibrant Mask with Vibrachrom colour range. This “Origami” theme runs through the total look of make up & costume keeping the costume monotone and built on simple lines to place emphasis on the hair color.

The show ended under the banner of sharing, one of the most dear value for Davines – the hairstyling community greated each other at the Bangkok Boat Party on the Chao Phraya River. Guests had the chance to enjoy classical local dances, but also Thai cuisine.
