One of the biggest live competitions for hairstylists in the industry, Color Zoom, challenges its participants to push the limits of their creativity, shake up the status quo, and take their talents to the next level.
After a national and international selection process, the creative elite of hairdressing recreate their international winning looks live on stage. Unveiled at this year’s Global Zoom, IN·FLUX is the newest collection inspired by the latest fashion trends.
The IN·FLUX creative team consists of two U.S. 2015 Color Zoom Challenge Winners – Corinne Brown and Harley LoBasso – along with Natalie Cara Jones from the UK and the Global Zoom Master Team of Rodica Hristu from Canada and Sascha Haseloff from Germany. Together, they created a highly innovative hair collection inspired by fashion that reimagines dimensions and breaks down the traditional conventions of color, shape, cut and texture.
“We are so proud of our 2017 Creative Team, especially as two of our very own U.S. stylists are U.S. Color Zoom Challenge winners from 2015,” says Trevor Attenborough, President and General Manager, Salon US – Kao Salon Division. “We love to see how each stylist is inspired and watch where this exciting journey continues to take them.”
While designing IN·FLUX, the Goldwell Color Zoom Team focused on fluidity in both cut and color. They experimented with innovative textures and shapes that blended seamlessly, with no discernible beginning or end. “I can definitely see my vision come to life through this collection,” says Corinne Brown, 2015 Global Winner in the Partner category. “Being able to collaborate with such talented and innovative stylists is such a thrilling opportunity and incredible honor.” Harley LoBasso, 2015’s Global Winner in the Creative category, agrees. “Being a winner of Color Zoom provided me with the perfect starting point for creating looks with a strong, heroic attitude. Working alongside such a bold, artistic team has only amped up my enthusiasm, drive, and creative energy.”
THE IN·FLUX COLLECTION
Color IN·FLUX
The IN·FLUX collection creates an iridescent effect, which is characterized by root shading and dark colors underneath, combined with dynamic, eccentric colors on the surface. The six iridescent surface shades are sheer and matte, powerful and pale, and created with our innovative Elumen hair color. The six dark, muted background colors, which are mixed with the Goldwell Color Brands, create depth, tone and support the overall outline of the cut.
Texture IN·FLUX
A convergence of contrasts: soft waves and wispy strands are combined with rough textures and strong silhouettes. The fluidity of the cuts are emphasized and iridescence becomes more radiant., creating a perfect synergy of strength and elegance.
Shapes IN·FLUX
Strong shapes smooth seamlessly and shorter sides transition into a longer nape area to create a very elegant sensation, embodying fluidity and lending an element of toughness to it. One typical shape in the IN·FLUX Collection is the triangle. Triangles are evident in all of the fringes, emphasized by different lengths within a concave outline and are disconnected to the sides.
