Until September, 19th 2016, in Turin (Italy), at Palazzo Madama, an amazing show chronologically traces the private life of Marilyn Monroe – the timeless icon of beauty and sensuality. Enjoy the best images in our exclusive gallery!
‘Marilyn Monroe. The woman beyond the myth’ gathers together 150 personal objects among clothing, accessories, beauty items, documents, letters, film clips, props, personal objects, cinematographic contracts, and notebooks, many of which come from her house in 5th Helena Drive in Brentwood, California, left to her acting coach and mentor Lee Strasberg.
And there are also photographs of the Hollywood Legend, not only those taken by legendary photographers like Milton Greene, Alfred Eisenstaedt, George Barris and Bernt Stern, but also unpublished and original press shots from that time.
The exhibition chronologically covers the backstage life of Marilyn, famous actress, but also an intelligent, lonely, and fragile woman who never stopped fighting to gain success in a world dominated by men like that of the cinema during the 1950s. The objects on display come from a collection belonging to Ted Stampfer, one of the largest of its kind.
The displays are accompanied by large photographs and video and film clips, documentaries, and a soundtrack with Marilyn Monroe’s songs. A special feature is the painting by Andy Warhol, ‘Four Marilyns’.
‘Marilyn Monroe. The woman beyond the myth’, at Palazzo Madama (Turin), from June 1st to September 19th, 2016.
