Michael Levine is one of Canada’s most in-demand and sought-after hairstylists. A hairdresser since 1994, he was recruited by Aveda in 1996 to lead their cutting and coloring education in western Canada.
Michael and his wife opened their first salon in 1998 and grew their business to 50 employees in three salon locations by training and developing apprentices and new talent rather than hiring stylists with an established clientele.
Deciding that his energy was best spent as a coach and mentor, Michael has always made it a priority to make his ceiling into his team’s floor; that is, to build a team more talented than himself by giving them all of his knowledge as their foundation. This agenda has resulted in several NAHA nominations and Contessa Awards. Now with three salons, two academies, and a product company, Michael Levine has become one of the hair industry’s most read and listened to writers and speakers, presenting on stages across North America as well as through his popular blog.
