Nellie Duclos is the owner of @nellieduclos, a talented personality known for her skill in creating beautiful and colorful hair. We reposted her as inspiration on @esteticausa and it recently became one of our most liked pictures!
We reached out to her personally to help you recreate this Instafamous look for one of your clients. She has more than 3K followers on Instagram and has one of the most beautiful feeds on the platform specializing in hair color. Side note: this hair color was one of her submissions for the Keune Color Cravings head shot competition and also her first national hair competition entry and she won her region!
“When I asked my client to be my model we both agreed to keep her color palette soft,” says Duclos. “Immediately I thought of the colors of Spring! I wanted to incorporate as many colors in the newly released Color Craving line for my entry into the contest. I ended up using 6 out of the 8 new Keune vivid shades.”
Here’s the breakdown!
Step 1: I used Redken up to seven with Olaplex #1 to lighten to a level 10
Step 2: On towel dried hair I applied Keune Tina color 10.21 to achieve a pearlized blonde (as seen in before picture)
Step 3: On completely dry hair I started my vivid application.
- Bowl 1: 2 tubes of lovely lavender, a 1/2 of a tube of velvet violet and 2 pumps of Olaplex #2.
- Bowl 2: 2 tubes of pink flush, 1/2 tube of passionate pink and 2 pumps of Olaplex #2.
- Bowl 3: 2 tubes of peach mist, 1/2 tube of sunset copper and 2 pumps of Olaplex #2.
- Bowl 4: 1/2 tube velvet violet, 1/2 tube pink flush, 2 inch ribbon of passionate pink and 2 pumps of Olaplex #2.
- Bowl 5: Olaplex #2 alone
Tip: When I begin applying my vivid colors I always start at the nape and work my way up. Work root to end melting your colors into one another with your index and middle finger for a great blend.
Step 4: I processed this at room temperature for 40min, washed with cool water and styled.
