Taking time to create diagonal sections in “The Volume Zone,” combined with heat, tension, over direction and a set, is the best way to create volume on the top of the head. It also prevents the gaps that appear when horizontal sections are used. The one and only Sam Villa shows how it’s done!
– Start on the right side and make a diagonal section across the top of the head and forward to the left.
– Working on the narrow side, push hair to the wide side of the section with a Sam Villa Signature Series Thermal Round Brush. Work at the base over directing and elevating to maximize volume. Make sure to heat the thermal brush to ensure section is heated on both sides.
– After hair is dry, spray with Redken triple take 32 extreme high hold hairspray and horizontally set each section by rocking between fingers and rolling up and securing with a Sam Villa Dry Sectioning Clip – professionally designed to provide maximum grip on dry hair without leaving marks.
– Take a section on the left side and make a diagonal section across the top of the head and forward to the right and repeat the process until the entire top of the head has been dried and set.
