A Gilded Success in Philadelphia: Wella Professionals Regional Trend Vision!

This was the first year that Wella Professionals offered regional TrendVision competitions and the response was incredible! Philadelphia was the last of three regionals held this year, after Chicago and Boston.

Thanks to these regional events, Wella Professionals is reaching more and more stylists across the nation and make entering a competition not so scary!

To enter, stylists were asked to submit at least three photos of their best work to date. The focus of their work, determined what category they should enter. If their work was focused on color, they entered into Color Vision; if they focused on cut and style, they entered the Creative Vision category. All students entered into the Student category. Finalists were chosen by a panel of Wella experts (including Paula Rufo, Carole Protat and Mika Quinn) for a chance to compete live in Philadelphia. Once notified, the regional finalists learned they needed to find a model, learn more about the 2016 Wella Professionals Trends (launched in Berlin) Molten Ecaille and Bronde Lux and get inspired!

On Sunday afternoon finalists crafted their creative interpretation of their chosen trend. A team of experts was on-site helping them bring their vision to life, including wardrobe stylists, make-up artists and a photographer to snap the essential image that entered them into the National Trend Vision competition (also a beautiful addition to their professional portfolio!).

At the end of the day, a panel of judges including, Kerri-Lee Young of Industrie Beauty, Alexandra Matiz Wella Professionals Top Artist and Robin Warrnier of Lakshmi Salon, critiqued each finalist’s look to select the winner.

That evening, guests were invited to cheer on competitors as they presented their final look on stage. Also taking the stage were trend inspired presentations lead by Wella, Sebastian and Nioxin Top Artists. Touted as WOW: Philadelphia” (World of Wella) the event not only celebrated the competition, it was a chance for local stylists to learn more about Wella’s portfolio, branded collections and inspiration from the company’s leading top artists. Headlining artists included Michael Haase & Aubrey Loots (Wella) Diva Poulos & Chris Rosario (Sebastian) and Vinnie Ferrara (Nioxin).

Please join us in congratulating last night’s Philadelphia winners!

Regional winners are automatically entered as a semi-finalist in the national competition and will receive an all-expenses paid trip to Las Vegas for the National Trend Vision Awards in July. For those that didn’t win they were still submitted, by way of their photo, into the national competition for another chance to be selected as a semi-finalist.

Stylists can still enter National Trend Vision Awards until May 15th 2016. Please go to www.bloom.com/trendvision for more details.
