More than 400 stylists, over two consecutive days, packed standing room only classrooms to see Candy Shaw kick-off North America’s show season. Thousands more attended classes at her SUNLIGHTS booth which completely SOLD OUT of all merchandise!
“We arrived almost 20 minutes early,” said one show go-er, “and we still couldn’t get in!” Crowds began forming nearly 45 minutes before her class to hear Candy, a.k.a. ‘The Balay Lama™,’ share her balayage expertise and business skills acquired as a stylist, salon owner & educator over nearly 30 years.
“Balayage will replace foil highlighting,” said Candy, “the same way foils replaced pulling hair through a cap, the same way mobile phones replaced home phones and cameras. It’s inevitable. Foil highlighting is a thing of the past! Balayage is faster, more profitable, ‘Greener’ and more fun,” Shaw explained as she invited her audience to ‘paint their way to financial freedom™’ by joining the Balayage Revolution!
ISSE (International Salon & Spa Expo), presented by the PBA (Professional Beauty Association), is the season opener for the North American beauty show circuit and is held in sunny Long Beach, California in January each year. Candy’s ISSE presentations followed on the heels of a ‘pre-season’ event she did in early January for Sweis, Inc., southern California’s SUNLIGHTS distributor. There, Candy’s SOLD OUT two-hour ‘Look & Learn’ was attended by over 250 stylists at a $65 USD ticket price, plus Sweis sold an entire pallet of merchandise, including nearly 90 BALAY BOXes at SUNLIGHTS’ $99 USD ‘show special’ price.
Two highly acclaimed California-based SUNLIGHTS Educators, Lisa Colhoun & Brandi Caputa, debuted their skills by teaching nonstop classes at the SUNLIGHTS’ booth at ISSE. Distinguished visitors to the SUNLIGHTS booth this weekend included: Sonya Dove, Martin Parsons, who presented Candy with a personalized sketch, Tracey Hughes from Australia, Dean Christal, Olaplex’s founder and Dr. Eric Pressley, its co-inventor.
Still less than two-years old, SUNLIGHTS, which signed Alaska on Friday, is distributed by a ‘Who’s Who’ “A” list of North American distributors in 45 U.S. States and 6 Canadian Provinces. For Christmas, SUNLIGHTS received its EU certification and steps out onto the world stage this year to spread the Balayage Revolution around the globe! In addition to the many distributor events she will be teaching at this year, you can see Candy and the SUNLIGHTS Artisan Team at the Chicago ABS show, and all three Premiere shows, including Orlando. She will also be in Shanghai for Intercoiffure Mondial.
