Matrix Destination 2016 Marvels its Family with Innovation

The blizzard was not enough to stop the members of the Matrix Family from getting to Orlando, with an attendance of about 2,000 hairdressers, salon owners, industry gurus, and even celebrities who simply had to be a part of Matrix Destination 2016!

The annual event centered on new launches for the new year, top-notch education for salons and a show that left everyone in the audience in wonder. The three-day educational event kicked off the event on Saturday, January 23, in Orlando, FL, where the Matrix Global Artistic Team was present, opening the weekend with a spectacle unlike any other before, at the Opening Show Experience and Party, where lights, dancers, laser beams, and opera-singers combined for one of the most beautiful and artistically varied hair shows. The highlight of the show? Murmuration-inspired runway by Dan Csicsai and Danielle Keasling used only natural hair for their creations. “We came up with this idea because it is a lot like the Matrix Family, this aspect of inclusion and family that is really reflected by the brand,” said Danielle.

Classes, seminars and hand-on workshops followed in the next two days, where attendees were able to discover innovations that will have an effect not only in how they style or color, but also on the style and manner in which they perform their crafts. Artists Chrystofer Benson & Dan Csicsai announced Matrix 2016 Trends with a sneak peek into the future with the latest in hair color, cutting and styling to transform inspiration into personal style for the Matrix clients!

A star-studded surprise made an appearance at the red carpet! Celebrity Ashley Tisdale went from celebrating the 10 year anniversary of ‘High School Musical’ to the Matrix Red Carpet, the brand with whom she will collaborate thanks to her love and passion for hair. On that New Year note, we also learned about the beautiful redesign of the Matrix Total Results, the VIP party where the Logics Trend 2016 was presented, and other future launches for the new year, like the aroma-full Matrix Oil Wonders Volume Rose Collection, a favorite of the ladies looking for some heights and will be available in salons next month!

The culture of the brand is inclusive, with courses that trained in various aspects of the trade. Nicholas French, Michael Albor, Cori Randall targeted the photo-loving crowd with the fundamentals to Avant-Garde styling, seen through the eye of the camera lens. Another class centered on the intersection of the UK Rebel and the U.S. Prep to Men’s Street Style, lead by artists Tara Koenig, Franco Della Grazia, and Marcus Shamin. For color-lovers and or wannabe chemists was the Kaleidoscope class with artists Nick Stenson, Danielle Keasling, Lenny Strand who innovative techniques that inspire fashion-forward looks and explored creativity with new vision for Matrix-only color results.

Then, there is the obvious business aspect of the event, reminding every Matrix member that for the artist to thrive, there has to be a good business involved, which is why the brand had a surprise for its business-owners. Author, salon owner, hairstylist, entrepreneur and star of Bravo TV’s “Tabatha Takes Over,” Tabatha Coffey, had a long chat about good business in a question-filled interactive program focused on re-energizing their businesses and maximizing their income. Stay tuned for our upcoming article of the tips on successful social media activations, retailing strategies, client retention and so much more!

She is also is teaming up with International Celebrity Colorist, George Papanikolas and shared a review on current red-carpet-worthy hair and fashion trends, as well as secrets on styling and strategic color placement for star-quality results to re-create celebrity-inspired looks in Matrix salons.
