Maximize Traffic in the Salon: 4 Fun Tips to Make the Holiday Prosperous

It’s the HOLIDAYS – the busiest time of the year, not only for Santa, but for stylists and salon owners too! Maximize traffic in the salon with these tips from Esther DiDonna, owner of De La Mer Salon.

We merchandise the salon with limited edition holiday product gift sets, incorporating traditional holiday decorations to make festive displays throughout the salon. Images we have taken of holiday nails and hair are displayed throughout the salon and used in our holiday ads to inspire our guests for the holiday season as well!” says DiDonna. Below are four fun tips from De La Mer to make business bright this holiday season.

1. Pre-book guest appointments from color to cut and style, especially from Thanksgiving through the New Year, given it is one of the busiest times of the year. And, focus on a plan for January when business slows down.

2. Suggest festive holiday styling – host a client holiday styling event to boost sales and treat guests to extra time to educate them on new looks and make them feel special.

3. Always suggest a new style, cut, color and makeup to ring in the New Year! January can be a slow time of year, if they have a new look for the New Year they are more apt to schedule an appointment.

4. Offer holiday promos to give back to loyal clients; we call this “Giving the Gift of Beauty.” We offer discounted gift cards and incentives for purchasing multiple services, such as buy 5 get 1 free. Clients can purchase these services, packages or gift cards to give as gifts, or for themselves. This ensures a busy January (and future months) where guests will visit the salon to redeem their gift cards and pre-paid services.
