Two new versions of Kayline’s innovative Hideaway tool organizer cart were released on October 1st.
The Hideaway, with its integrated power strip, was the first cart on the market to bring tools closer to the chair and eliminate the inevitable tangled cord mess that all stylists must deal with. The patent pending design features a 1/2″ mandrel bent steel frame with durable powder coat finish, four 360 Degree swivel wheels and an integrated 6 outlet 15A power strip with 8 foot cord.
Kayline has expanded the Hideaway line with two variations on the basic design. The Hideaway-UT adds an upper aluminum upper tray perfect for color services at the chair or an additional place for items such as client’s coffee, shears or products. The Hideaway-M version of the Hideaway adds an upper mirror which swivels, making this hair tool organizer a great go to overflow station at the salon, a runway station or home styling station.
“Both versions are basically the same as the regular Hideaway with the addition of either a removable mirror or removable upper tray,” explained Joe Ryan, Creative Director for Kayline by Wahl. “The upper tray version allows the stylist an extra place to lay items like a color bowl and foil or some shears. The mirrored version is great for an impromptu station for a small salon, an education event or a tradeshow. It is a very small piece so it could easily act as a small blowdry station or overflow station in a salon.”
The Hideaway was unveiled at Cosmoprof North America held July 12-14 in Las Vegas. Since then, Ryan has heard some consistent comments.
“We decided to spin off a couple variations of the Hideaway when we received comments on the tradeshow floor,” he said. “People would say, ‘I wish this had a little mirror’ or ‘It would be neat to have a tray up here to lay things.’ Everyone works different. When doing research with stylists we try to find a commonality between the comments.”
