Surrounded by stunning views of distant mountains and California grapevines, Luxury Brand Partners’ second education excursion successfully brought together 40 like-minded salon owners on a three-day getaway to the awe-inspiring Carmel Valley Ranch.
Filled with festivity and intense industry-related training, the event, which focused on innovation, also addressed the importance of networking and fostering relationships. The trip began on Sunday, August 9, with a candid conversation and panel discussion led by industry veterans Tev Finger, Daniel Kaner, Reuben Carranza and Vaughn Acord. “Hard topics were brought up during the panel discussion, but the group was transparent and honest with every answer,” said Lyndsey Bardnell, Vice President of Learning and Development. “We tee up the conversation and hope to inspire high-level thinking and continued conversation.”
Each member of the LBP Executive Team taught a 45-minute class touching on such topics as planned evolution, the state of the industry, leadership, responsible capitalism and capturing the men’s market. The attendees were also privy to a men’s grooming demonstration presented by Vaughn. The evenings were chock-full of wine tours, elegant dinners and lively libations around the fire pit.
“The magic of the trip was how naturally the clients formed meaningful friendships,” Lyndsey said. “They would discuss the concepts of building businesses and embracing ideas. Each and every one of them made an investment in their ongoing development by joining this journey.” The excursion wrapped with a final dinner and multiple toasts from attendees who spoke about how excited they were to head back into the salon world with clear direction and new-found motivation.
