Go Caitlyn… How to Do Gender Bender Brows!

Eyes are the windows to the soul, and whether that soul is a Bruce or a Caitlyn, the brows need to tell the story. Caitlyn Jenner has taken the world by storm, and her brows looked gorg too! Boom Boom, owner of Boom Boom Brow Bar, gives tips on how to do gender bender brows.

When you’re adding a feminine touch to a face, start with a good arch to open the eye and frame features. Men’s brows have a tendency to grow straight across, so adding that lift really softens the face,” explains Boom Boom.

How to Do Gender Bender Brows

Clean Up – Men tend to have much thicker brows, start by reducing the width by taking hair off from the top and bottom of the brow line (tapering towards the end) and they will start to look more feminine. And NEVER let a unibrow grow, ALWAYS keep that area clean.

Stay Sharp – Because men usually have more hair in their brows and don’t groom as often as women, the outline of the brow has more of a natural blurred line, creating a clean sharp line to define the shape makes it look more ladylike. Use a brow powder like use Boom Boom Boostiers brow powder for precision shaping.

Keep it Short – Clip those hairs, men can have long strands, brush brows up and trim any hair that is longer than about a half inch to look more girlie.

Focus on the Arch – A manly brow is usually straight across or has a very triangular arch, if straight; create a lift to open the eye area by removing hair to create a tapered brow with a soft arch. If working with a triangular arch, soften the peak by taking a little off the top of the triangle.

Malynda Vigliotti (aka Boom Boom) is obsessed with brows – 130,000+ served at Boom Boom Brow Bar in NYC! Everyone should have thick gorgeous eyebrows; after all, they are the most important feature on the face and THE best accessory EVA!  Boom Boom knows there’s no such thing as natural beauty, but she does believe a perfectly done brow is an instant eyelift – no Botox necessary!
