We had a blazing time at The Millennium Experience 2015 and ESTETICA has your inside look to go behind the scenes of the beauty event that lead over 50 classes and seminars from top industry professionals and brands that were in attendance.
The Millennium Experience 2015 conference continues to be one of the most influential beauty business events in the world. An energetic crowd of beauty professionals from around the country attended the show. With the plethora of trends and information about what’s hot and why, ESTETICA is giving you a recap of the most innovative leaders and interesting classes we met and attended in the Arizona experience.
“This year’s theme is ‘Join the Movement – the movement to become the best version of you,” said John Harms, the Founder and CEO of Millennium Systems International. “We are all here for the same reason: to learn, to grow, to be inspired, to connect with the beauty industry’s best, and to be a part of something great.”
In ESTETICA’s opinion, it all starts with the leaders and educators. Starlets, CEO’s, celebrity stylists and master colorists all took march to the dusty grounds of the Arizona, giving attendees the latest in skills, salon management, brand management and business tips for the ultimate gain as a beauty professional. Amongst all of the brilliant minds that shared their secrets was Nick Arrojo, owner and founder of Arrojo NYC; Matt Beck, the brilliant founder of FreeSalonEducation.com; Carol Phillips, the founder of BeauteeSmarts; Candy Shaw, the founder of Sunlights Bayalage; owner and expert colorist, Kim Vo; and Charles Marcus, motivational speaker and author, just to name a few. One the biggest surprises of the event was the presentation on stage by Mark Bustos, the New York stylist who pays it forward giving free haircuts to the homeless. Do not miss our amazing interview with Mark soon at esteticamagazine.com!
Farouk Systems had two major industry professionals present, showing attendees the importance of having not only creative strengths, but also business strengths, especially in a company as prominent as Farouk Systems, Inc. The business mastermind is Andre Chiavelli, VP of Global Strategy and the genius behind the beautiful is Patrick Kalle, the brand’s artistic director. Sponsor educators and Millennium educators also lead the event with an injection of knowledge into the variety of classes being offered.
Since this is a business conference first and foremost, it is essential to talk about using social media as a free tool to promote your company – because that is what social media should be for a brand! These courses included Hairbrained’s Gerard Scarpaci, “Use Instagram to build you brand” as well as “Tips to building your brand on YouTube” taught by Matt Beck.
ESTETICA attended most of these classes including “Empowering your team through Gamification,” was a class lead by John Harms himself. The few skill courses were simply fabulous, like Kim Vo’s “Blonding Demonstration,” and “Tips with Kim Vo” taught by the celebrity stylist himself. He is the global leader of blondes and is almost as famous as his clients! On this glimmering note, we have to mention “Bayalage Brilliance” taught by the holiest hands in the industry, Candy Shaw, who was even nicknamed the Balay Lama by her clients and trainees.
To top off the investment, attendees had the chance to be a part of the “Owners Social” evening, a deeply anticipated event at The Millennium Experience 2015, which turned out to be a fun and casual conversation of the hottest topics by the most successful minds present in the event. Stylists and owners got a chance to questions the panel, which included Vo, Harms, Scarpaci, Shaw and Phillips, about the beauty industry and how to improve their own businesses using the truly professional insight.
