Attracting the highest number of registrants and attendees ever, +10,000 including 1,450 international stylists from across 32 countries attended the highly successful 2015 Redken Symposium.
Beauty professionals ranging from novices to A-list celebrity colorists, gathered at the 3-day education event that covered everything related to the multi-billion dollar haircare industry and sneak peeks of the newest products, technologies and innovations that Redken unveiled, like the brand new Chromatics Ultra Rich Shades or the revolutionary Frizz Dismiss Haircare Collection, and the amazing new look of Pureology.
At the Redken Symposium, education is paramount: With panels ranging from how to handle coloring mishaps and demanding celebrity clients, led by Redken Celebrity Colorist Tracey Cunningham and Redken Master Colorist David Stanko, to an expert panel on how social media is impacting salons’ businesses, the Redken Symposium provided knowledge, inspiration and business skills needed to “learn better, earn better, and live better” and ultimately strengthen one’s techniques and a build a more successful salon.
This year’s symposium was larger than life as a total of 657 models walked the runway, 2,242 pictures were taken in the Redken Symposium Photo Booth, and 15,198 total Instagram images were uploaded using the hashtag #RedkenSymposium2015. W-O-W! This doesn’t include the 70,000+ tubes and bottles of color, 5,500+ styling products, 350+ shampoos, conditioners and treatments, 125 boxes of wardrobe, and 1,000+ pairs of shoes for the models… Just amazing!
Throughout the three days, salon professionals had the opportunity to sit-in on over 25 classes and panels led by leading global educators including Redken Education Artistic Director Kris Sorbie who hosted “The Worldwide Color Movement” alongside several leading Redken Artists, and Redken Education Artistic Director Sam Villa who took the stage with Redken Artist Chris Baran for the first time in 12 years to host “Legendary Designs”. Two other highly-anticipated classes of Redken Symposium 2015 included “Ready to Wear” with acclaimed artists Rodney Cutler & David Stanko; “The Trend Report” with stylists Phillip Barwick, Richard Kavanagh, Jorge Joao & Justin Isaac; Pureology’s “Pure Artistry” with Ruth Roche, Natasha Sunshine & Wendy Belanger; and “Beauty and the Brits” with UK’s top artists Andrew Barton & Lee Stafford.
Thousands of attendees gathered at the Redken Gallerie Pods for one-on-one information on Redken’s newest product offerings, including Frizz Dismiss, Blonde Idol Lightening System, Chromatics Ultra Rich, Blur and Color Rebel. Brand favorites were also be available including Hidden Gems, Shades EQ, Gels, Color Fusion, and Color Camo. Also, the Redken Experts at the Genius Bar provided salon professionals with the answers to all their digital questions.
For the first time ever, Redken introduced the Redken Symposium 2015 app – a complete mobile app that brought the entire Redken event experience to attendees’ fingertips, delivering up-to-date program information, user-specific customized content and the opportunity to digitally interact with the brand in a new way.
