TIGI World Release 2014 in Berlin incorporated supreme on-stage technical demos, the premier of the 2015 Academy Collection and a sensational show finale that received a well-deserved standing ovation!
World Release Berlin 2014 was an amazing spectacle when confirmed the strength of TIGI’s mantra, ‘By Hairdressers for Hairdressers’. Guests from across Europe were given a first glimpse of the new Academy Collection 2015 with men’s styling linked to the new Bed Head for Men range and models illustrating the new cult Bed Head products.
A delighted Anthony and Pat Mascolo welcomed guests, underlined their philosophy of Anthony’s philosophy of ‘what’s new today’s old tomorrow’ and stressing the importance the TIGI brand places on training and education.
Nick Irwin, TIGI Global Creative Director and Christel Lundqvist, TIGI Global Technical Director, were also on hand to introduce the TIGI International Creative Team and the TIGI Technical Team, who showed vignettes of their color techniques, before explaining how they had created the shades for the other models.
Showing cuts and colors from the Academy Collection 2015, the team members went on to explain how it’s important to re-evaluate your work, re-freshing what you do and updating your work with new finishes and products, before it was the turn of TIGI Inspirational Youth Germany to debut and assert their creative and technical skills.
The last section of the Education Show was all about the Catwalk. Nick Irwin, Maria Kovacs, Marco Iafrate and Michele Grasso each recreated a look from the AW14 runway shows: KTZ, Antipodium, Iris Van Herpen and The Blondes respectively.
The second half of the evening was a 45-minute finale, ‘TIGI Tales’ –part Grimms’ fairy tales, certainly dark at times and included glacial storm–troopers, hero gladiators, exquisite TIGI couture hair with models dressed in fantastic couture outfits, specially created for TIGI by their fashion stylist Jiv D. The colourful ending saw clouds of colour floating across the stage to the beat of drums.
