The Professional Beauty Association (PBA) is pleased to announce that ticket and education registration for the 2015 International Salon and Spa Expo (ISSE) in Long Beach is now open!
ISSE Long Beach is the West Coast’s largest and most influential beauty event open exclusively to licensed beauty professionals, students and instructors. Known as the launchpad for new beauty products, ISSE Long Beach welcomes both leading international and indie beauty brands, including Amika, CAILYN Cosmetics, Enzo Milano, Gelish, Johnny B Hair Care, LightStim, Matrix, OPI Products Inc., and Vidal Sassoon. With nearly 40,000 beauty professionals expected to attend, ISSE Long Beach has evolved beyond the traditional “hair show” to a complete beauty event for hair, nails, cosmetics, esthetics and advanced education.
Along with the returning NAHA Stage and Center Stage, which both feature various artistic and educational presentations, the EstheticsAmerica & Wellness pavilion, the new Cut, Color & Style Stage, and The Nail Spot will also host many classes at this year’s show.
The EstheticsAmerica & Wellness pavilion, a serene area dedicated to the art of skin, spa and wellness, is where attendees discover the hottest skin and wellness products on the market and can take part in specialized education, including CIDESCO Section USA and complimentary skin, massage and wellness classes.
The Nail Spot and the Cut, Color & Style Stage are the newest additions to ISSE Long Beach. Dedicated to nail professionals, The Nail Spot is an area featuring creative and technical education, nail competitions and more. Nail professionals looking to enhance their knowledge, creativity and skills, will find it at The Nail Spot. The new Cut, Color & Style stage will showcase stylists educating attendees on the latest techniques and creating the most sought after styles at any skill level.
With more than 150 educational offerings at the 2015 show, attendees can create a personalized schedule of professional sessions in Hair, Nails, Skin and Business, including a lineup of Hands-On workshops, CIDESCO Section USA, and Student and Early Professional classes. Guest educators include Ted Gibson, Chrystofer Benson, Nicholas French, among others.
Education Highlights Include:
Celebrity Stylist and TV Personality Ted Gibson: Ted Gibson is one of the most sought-after editorial, runway and celebrity hair stylists in the business. He was also the resident hair guru on TLC’s “What Not to Wear”. His work has appeared in publications such as Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, Elle, Marie Claire, Vanity Fair, W and Allure, and backstage at runway shows such as Chanel, Prada and Dolce & Gabbana. Ted is perhaps most known for toiling over the tresses of top celebrities, including Luptia Nyongo, Anne Hathaway, Jessica Chastain, Debra Messing, Angelina Jolie, Ashley Greene, Zoe Saldana, Gabrielle Union and many more. With salons in New York City and Ft. Lauderdale, education is most important for the brand and Ted Gibson. You don’t want to miss what Ted and his artistic team have in store.
The Contrast Collection by Nicholas French and Chrystofer Benson: A one-show only presentation of this duo’s new Collection Contrast! Contrast is a principle of art referring to the arrangement of opposite elements (light vs. dark colors, rough vs. smooth textures, large vs. small shapes, etc.). The presentation is sure to create a high level of visual interest, excitement, and drama as the artists use high contrast as a tool to direct the viewer’s attention to a particular point of interest. Come join the two Matrix Artistic Directors who have 22 NAHA finals and seven NAHA wins between them for their ONE Center Stage presentation. Don’t forget their presentations on the NAHA stage, too!
The NAHA Experience by Charlie Price: See NAHA Master, 23-time nominee and two-time NAHA Hairstylist of the Year winner Charlie Price as he navigates “The NAHA Experience.” Learn how to construct an entry, the importance of story-boarding, how to generate themes, select models, and assemble the perfect support team. Plus, watch as Charlie recreates some of his greatest hits on live models and hear how some of his most memorable collections were brought to life. Charlie will also be joined by NAHA Judge and Committee member Mia Liguori McHugh of Scruples Haircare for a comprehensive Q&A.
ORLY GEL FX Instant Artist Certification: A Hands-on Workshop by Sam Biddle: Join in the first hands-on workshop and leave as a Certified ORLY GEL FX Instant Artist. Learn the fundamental basics to easily create stunning designs from simple to complex using vitamin infused GEL FX and Instant Artist. Sam Biddle, ORLY International ambassador and a renowned International Artist, teaches attendees the tips of the trade. This class is limited to 20 registrants, so registering early is highly recommended. All attendees will be certified on site and will receive an ORLY GEL FX Instant Artist Certificate.
An Estheticians Guide to Anti-Aging and Skincare Solutions by Lydia Sarfati: Learn how environmental exposure, genetics and hormonal and chronological factors influence aging of the skin causing wrinkles and skin disorders. Lydia educates attendees on the best ingredients that provide solutions for a flawless complexion. Understand exfoliation, peels and electrotherapy and learn scientific solutions to provide the best results for your clients. Session includes a demonstration of an anti-aging treatment with electrotherapy.
