The Mentor Award is a new initiative to recognize and reward emerging talent. It will be held in Paris on September, 14-15 and is a joint-initiative by Beauté Sélection 2014 and EsteticaNetwork.
The Mentor Award is intended to highlight on young emerging talents worldwide. The four mentors 3 stylists are of international fame: Stéphane Amaru, Christophe Nicolas-Biot and Klaus Peter Ochs, joined by Laura Castelli, EsteticaNetwork Editor-in-Chief and all have recently spent time selecting four hairdressers known locally but who have not yet attained international renown.
The decision was made based on criteria of inventiveness, bold creativity, innovation, and quality of the final product, as well as the capacity to take the stage and describe their work.
Of the 16 participants, following an initial selection by voting, only 8 finalists were nominated based on their photographs and the presentation of their coach. These 8 finalists will now continue on to the second phase of the competition: indeed, they will be invited to Paris during the Mondial Coiffure Beauté by Beauté Sélection 2014 to perform live on-stage. Each hairdresser will have his or her own technical-creative work-show on a model in front of an audience of 200, who will then decide on the winner.
