Joico Artist Stella Livoti keeps a watchful eye on the Paris fashion runways – it’s there that she often finds her muse. This season, it was the Spring Chanel collection that ignited her imagination and informed her exciting new collection!
“The patterns were incredible,” she notes. “And the fabrics were so heavily layered. The shapes were created by color –pastels, acid punk shades, neons– but no matter what, the fabrics really moved. That’s what I wanted to achieve with these haircolors!”
Stella reveals the details of each look:
Model #1—Yellow/Pink/Green/Blue
Darkly intense with an artful combination of color that evokes the juxtaposition of oil and water.

Prelighten: Joico VeroLight Lightening Powder + 10 Volume Veroxide
Base: Joico Vero K-PAK Chrome RB4 Amaretto + Activator Crème Developer
Joico Color Intensity Accent Formulas: Yellow / Pink / Peacock Green / Cobalt Blue
Application: Create a diamond-shape top section and pre-lighten. Subdivide the prelightened section into 15 panels. On each panel, apply a random combination of one of the four Color Intensity shades. Apply two inches of your first color choice, beginning at the scalp, then apply your second color choice to the remainder of the section, carefully blending the two. Continue applying two shades to each panel, carefully blending. After every third panel, omit a thin slice. Continue until all of the panels are complete and apply the base color to remaining strands.
Style: On damp hair, apply Joico Power Whip Whipped Foam to roots and Smooth Cure Leave-In Rescue Treatment to lengths. Blow dry and finish with Joico Power Spray Fast-Drying Finishing Spray.
Model #2—Yellow/Pink/Orange
Cheerful candy colors pop against a pearly blonde base.

- Prelighten: Joico Vero K-PAK Crème Lightener + 20 Volume Veroxide
- Tone: Joico Vero K-PAK Color 1 ½ oz. TSB Silver Blonde Toner + ½ oz. TPB Pearl Blonde Toner + 20Volume Veroxide
- Joico Color Intensity Accent Formulas: Indigo / ½ Red + ½ Orange / Orange / Pink / Yellow / Red
- Application: Apply lightener to all strands, process 45 minutes, remove and treat with the K-PAK Hair Repair System. Tone all strands, process 15 minutes and remove. Create a circular section at the crown and clip away. Beginning in back, create thin diagonal slice panels and apply the color in the following pattern in back-to-back slices, blending two colors on each slice: Yellow/Pink, Pink/Orange, Orange/Red. Next apply a solid panel of Red, then Indigo, then Yellow/Indigo, Pink, Orange, Red/Orange, Yellow, Pink and Orange/Red. As work progresses to the front, shift to weaves: Yellow, Pink, Orange and Red on the heavy side; Yellow, Orange and Red and on light side. Process and shampoo with Joico Moisture Recovery Shampoo and Conditioner.
- Style: Apply Joico Smooth Cure Leave-In Rescue Treatment to damp hair and blow dry. Finish with Joico Design Works Shaping Spray for workable hold and Crème Wax Texture and Shine for shape and definition.
Model #3—Pink/Yellow/Green-Blue/Indigo
Pretty-in-punk hues emanate with the vivid gloss of enamel.

Prelighten: Joico VeroLight Lightening Powder + 10 Volume Veroxide
Base: Joico Vero K-PAK Chrome 3 oz. RM5 Burmese Ruby + 1 ½ oz. RRV Really Red Violet + Activator Crème Developer
Joico Color Intensity Accent Formulas: Pink / Yellow / ½ Peacock Green + ½ Cobalt Blue / Indigo
Application: After prelightening, apply 11 back-to-back slices on the left/back section, in the following pattern: 2 Pink, 1 Yellow, 2 Indigo, 1 Yellow, 1 Pink, 1 Indigo, 3 Peacock Green/Cobalt Blue. On the front left panel, apply 2 slices Pink, 1 Yellow, 1 Indigo, 1 Pink, 2 Indigo, 2 Peacock/Cobalt.
On the right top section, in diagonal subsections off of the side parting, apply 3 slices Pink, 2 Yellow, 2 Indigo, 2 Yellow, 1 Pink, 2 Indigo, 3 Peacock/Blue. In the right back section, starting at the crown: Base, 2 slices Pink, 2 Indigo, 1 Yellow, 2 Pink, 1 Green/Blue, 2 Indigo, 1 Green/Blue, 1 Indigo, 4 Green/Blue. Process 20 minutes shampoo and treat with Joico K-PAK Cuticle Sealerand Intense Hydrator.
Style: Apply Joico Smooth Cure Leave-In Rescue Treatment to damp hair and blow dry. Mist hair with Joico Smooth Cure Thermal Styling Protectant and smooth subsections with a flat iron. Apply Joico Super Shine Glossing Polish for shine, and mist withHumidity Blocker Finishing Spray.
