The 2014 Oscars was filled with flawless gowns and gorgeous hair – this year one of our favorite updos of the night was Maria Menounos! She looked amazing in an updo with her Grecian Goddess Braids!
Her look was gorgeous and the perfect look for an elegant evening. Here’s how to recreate her beautiful style by Lorena Garcia, using products and tools from DURA CHI and BioSilk.
How-to get Maria’s Grecian goddess updo look:
Prep: Prep hair by soaking with BioSilk Thermal Shield before blow drying with DURA CHI Professional Dryer.
- Step 1: Create clean center part and divide front into 2 sections from top of the head to back of ear.
Step 2: Divide remaining hair into two horizontal sections, pinning top section up.
Step 3: Spray the remaining hair in the back with BioSilk Natural Hold Finishing Spray before curling 1 ½” sub sections with a 1” DURA CHI Professional Curling Iron.
Step 4: French braid left side section and pin.
Step 5: Repeat on right side. For added texture and grip use BioSilk Clean Dry Shampoo.
Step 6: Connect braids with elastic band.
Step 7: Loosen up curls by raking through with fingers.
Step 8: Start pinning up curls into a loose chignon.
Step 9: Pull some whispy pieces loose in the front. Finish the look with BioSilk Natural Hold Finishing Spray. Mist hair with BioSilk Shine On for added shine.
