This season’s Fashion Weeks were full of inspiration for hairstyling extraordinaire Guido, Redken Creative Consultant!
Guido’s opinion on the fashion trends of the season? “Clothes were very designed this season… prints, over-the-top shoes, quite extreme looks. That’s why we created hair with a sense of ease!”
We present to you one of Guido’s favorite Spring/Summer trends: Classically Romantic! Classically Romantic hairstyles are casually glamorous styles with ease and nonchalance! Easy hair can still look elegant, as this season’s intentionally understated styles proved, from updos to loose looks to simple ponytails.
This trend was popular among the runways of: Bottega Venata, Calvin Klein, Celine, Christopher Kane, Miu Miu, Nina Ricci, Rag & Bone, Roberto Cavalli and Sacai.
Guido’s tips on achieving this Classic Romantic style:
The softly disheveled ballet bun at Celine contrasted perfectly with the bold brow. “The hair wasn’t pulled too tightly and a few flyaways were left untouched, so the end result looks soft and pretty,” says Guido. To get the look, blow-dry hair with Satinwear 02 prepping blow-dry lotion and twist into an airy knot. Pin in place and finish with Quick Dry 18 instant finishing spray.
Glossy shine was the order of the day at Miu Miu – so much so that strands of models’ hair were intentionally stuck to a high-glossed lip. “The sticky lips and hair combination lent a bit of sexiness to the overall style. Other than that, it’s clean and natural,” says Guido. Take the look from runway to reality by simply amping up shine. Prep hair with Diamond Oil Shampoo and Conditioner, then apply Extreme Anti-Snap to lengths and blow-dry with a round brush.
At Nina Ricci, a low-maintenance ponytail looked polished and undone all at once. “The hair is simple, but the look itself is very luxurious, romantic and feminine,” says Guido. Layering products will help you get the most luxurious shine – start by applying Outshine 01 anti-frizz polishing milk to damp hair, then apply Diamond Oil Shatterproof Shine to the ends. Blow-dry smooth, create a center part, then gather hair into a ponytail at the nape. Add a black ribbon, then loosen the front by pulling hair gently.
Estetica can’t wait to share with you the rest of Guido’s trends this Spring/Summer season!
