Westrow House, home to the Academy of educational excellence for Westrow, the leading salon group in the North of England, has officially opened for business in Briggate, the bustling, well-known street in the heart of Leeds.
The Academy, which cost in excess of ￡1million and is the first centre of education for the Westrow brand. With the aim of offering quality education to the industry at large, the academy has been opened up to external students (with a capacity of 240) to help improve the standard of training across the UK. There are 10 assessors within the Westrow group qualified to teach and assess assistants in the workplace, with the brand’s award-winning, experienced educators delivering NVQ levels 2 & 3, Diploma in hairdressing, Level 4 hairdressing, management, NVQ barbering and bespoke, private courses in an unrivalled environment. The Academy also boasts a full working salon space, three creative studios and two theory and key skills studios. The Academy’s independence from any manufacturer will give Westrow the freedom to collaborate with many forward thinking brands looking for a northern base to create their own space for bespoke branded events and seminars.
Said Westrow directors, Mark Westerman and Steve Rowbottom: “As Westrow has expanded over the last 26 years we have developed our business and educational strategy to ensure it is always at the forefront of innovation, which has been hallmarked with the launch of the Westrow Academy. No other salon group or training centre in the UK offers facilities of this standard that can be branded bespoke to individual manufacturers needs and we are proud to be unique in our offerings. It’s about educating and innovating and setting new standards in the training and hairdressing arena.”
