Monique Lhuillier Fall 2014 Bridal Collection inspires Hair Design by Antonio Corral Calero, Moroccanoil® Artistic Director
“Fall 2014: Welcome to my secret garden… My fall bridal collection celebrates romance with an heirloom quality. Femininity and sensuality runs throughout the collection. The fabrics are layers of tulle with an array of signature lace details. Embroideries are delicate in floral, lattice and vine motifs, colored in antique silver and rose-gold threadwork inspired by the timelessness of our secret garden. Silhouettes are molded with billowing skirts to bring out the goddess in our bride this season.” – Monique Lhuillier
When it came to designing hair for the runway of the Monique Lhuillier 2013 fall bridal collection, perhaps the keyword that inspired Moroccanoil Artistic Director, Antonio Corral Calero, was heirloom – something familiar, something precious, something timeless. Then there was the secret garden, with lattice and fine motifs, something romantic and natural. And just as each flower in a garden is different from the next, each braided look Corrral Calero created took on its own personality. But all were feminine and romantically elegant with an updated matte texture.
“We wanted the girls to look like themselves, wearing updos with a romantic, soft and whimsical mood,” said Antonio. “The attention was on the matte texture of the hair and the intricate details of each braided bun, parted side or center, with minimal volume on top.”
