‘Forbidden’ collection by Lisa Muscat encapsulates working with traditional head shapes and the curve of the head, yet exaggerating those shapes to create your own interpretations of techniques,styles and concepts.
From working with long hair to create the illusion of short haircut shapes, no style is wide or elongated. Instead, shapes from past collections have pushed the boundaries, evolving into something more illuminating and intriguing.
One such technique was the weave from ‘Force’; this was a basket weave the length of the models back, however in ‘Forbidden’, the hair becomes a mask, with the hair weaved over the models face, giving rise to a captured appearance.
Graphic cues were taken from Danish designers Viktor & Rolf, to create the striking black and red makeup. It highlights the strength of styles yet like the hair concepts, follows the shape of each individual model, fascinating the onlooker with it’s powerful appearance.
