Coco Rocha at the 2013 Met Ball with Hair by Veronica Chu for Moroccanoil

Coco Rocha‘s hairstyle by Veronica Chu for Moroccanoil rocked the Met’s Red Carpet

The guest list for the Met Ball, an annual ball hosted by Vogue to celebrate the opening of the New York Metropolitan Museum’s fashion exhibit, always reads like a red carpet who’s who, and this year as no exception. With this year’s theme being “PUNK: Chaos to Couture”, Coco Rocha seemed to actually embody punk rock couture, accompanied by Fausto Puglisi, creative director of world-renowned fashion designer, Emanuel Ungaro.

Coco donned a one-of-a-kind Emanuel Ungaro by Fausto Puglisi. The gem-encrusted leopard dress clung to her boady like a second skin, and her sleek, edgy hair look designed by celebrity stylist Veronica Chu for Moroccanoil® complemented the look perfectly.

“Coco’s dress is stunning.  It is full of drama and excess – a perfect fit for the gala!  Because of the high neck, we avoided big, voluminous hair,” said Veronica Chu.  “We opted for a clean low French twist ponytail accessorized at the back with the same firefly gems used on the dress. Coco usually doesn’t wear bangs, so we incorporated an extreme “V” fringe to add a punk rock edge, completing the hair look.”

How to get the look:

1 –  Wash hair with Moroccanoil Moisture Repair Shampoo and Conditioner, then prep it with Moroccanoil Treatment to add shine and smoothness.
2 – Apply one pump of Moroccanoil Volumizing Mousse and comb it through with fingers. Then lightly mist hair with Moroccanoil Heat Styling Protection.
3 – Use a Moroccanoil Round Brush to blow dry the hair to make sure the ends are smooth and straight.
4 – Section and flat iron  hair for a super sleek look.
5-  For the fringe, sectioned off the first 1/3 of the crown and cut the hair into a deep “V” to ensure the tip isin line with the nose.
6 – Then apply one pump of Moroccanoil Hydrating Styling Cream to help smooth the hair while pulling it back and bending it into a low French twist.
7 – Secure hair with bobby pins inside the twist and let fall naturally into a low ponytail at the nape of the neck.
8 – Mist with Moroccanoil Luminous Hairspray Medium for a flexible hold.
9-  Tie the look together with firefly gems just above the ponytail twist and then mist the hair again with Moroccanoil Hairspray Strong to secure the hair.
10 – To finish the look, use Moroccanoil Glimmer Shine Spray for a wet, shiny, punk rock texture.”
