Style Masters Show 2013: more of the best in coiffure!

The Style Masters Show in Madrid welcomed three thousand hairdressers from all corners of the globe.

Revlon Professional, Orofluido and American Crew make use of this event to launch their latest and greatest hair fashion trends.  But the high point of the show is always the announcement of the winner of the Style Master 2013 International Contest.  The winner of this third edition was Cliff CK Cheung from Hong Kong, who out-coiffed competing finalists from other countries worldwide: France, Peru, Russia, Canada, Poland and Hungary.

The young hairdresser confessed to the press that he was “so proud to have won a competition that recognizes talent and creativity” – after conquering the consensus of the jury with a look inspired by trends in his homeland. Alexander Callegari Gavidia (Peru) went home with second place, while third place went to Ekaterina Khloptsova (Russia).

This year the jury called upon such figures as Mikel Luzea, Spanish hairdresser and president of the Club Figaro; David Dunan, photographer; X-Presion, Robert Masciave and Gun-Britt Zeller, members of the Style Masters Team; Roberto Pissimiglia, publisher of EsteticaNetwork; Miguel García, International Artistic Director of Revlon Professional.

Thanks to the collaboration of Salón Look Internacional/IFEMA, the gala event served as the venue for the presentation of 70 hairstyle trends for the upcoming season with the Wild and Privée collections by Revlon Professional, the sensual universe of Orofluido and American Crew‘s men’s catwalk. Miguel García, International Artistic Director of Revlon Professional and Orofluido proposed new trends featuring mid-length cuts colored with copper highlights for intense reflections. Blonds will be seeing more de-constructed volumes and textures to highlight their femininity. For men, Mark Vanderloo was on hand as the “face” of the Drive her Wild Collection by American Crew. It’s back to classics for men, with layers, razor cuts, and traditional shapes.

The evening ended on a high note with a performance by Soraya, who sang some disco classics as well as some tracks from her own albums. Perhaps another award should be considered for this extraordinary appointment with international hairdressing that focuses on talent, creativity and excellence.
