Charlie LeMindu wows again with his Spring/Summer 2013 haute couture collection.
The time is right and Charlie LeMindu, the artist who gave new meaning to the concept of hair fashion, presented his first-ever fashion collection – entitled “Metal Queen” at Paris Couture Fashion Week. Le Mindu succeeds in combining the best of both worlds – couturier and hairdresser – thanks to his favorite medium: Hairdreams® real human hair extensions.
This time around, Le Mindu drew his inspiration from female musicians like jazz/metal singer Lee Aaron and Nina Hagen, evoking the excess, glamour, power and sensuality of high-octane 80’s fashion. Black and white geometric shapes reign here, with mouselline silks, Japanese leather and natural Hairdreams hair (30,000 black and white strands). The retro-effect of monochromatic pencil silhouettes express his vision for the perfect, powerful Le Mindu woman.
Charlie also flaunted his hairdressing skills, weaving intricate basket-weave braiding, sculpting shapes, and using contrasting layers. For this show in particular, Charlie introduced “hair petals” for the first time, while other forms seemed to pay homage to nature, evoking anything from birds in flight to stunning landscapes.
Although Charlie Le Mindu is best known for his masterpiece “hair” creations worn by Lady Gaga, he also has an exclusive collaboration with Hairdreams hair extensions, which is recognized for its superior quality hair and holds the prestigious position of Avante-Garde Creative Director for Hair within Harrods’ Urban Retreat Spa. He is also available for private appointments and consultations as part of their Elite Styling Team.
