Hundreds of teams of top-rated hair artists battled it out for the chance to complete in a one-of-a-kind epic hair contest.
“Battle of the Strands” is an annual execution impact hairstyling competition that whittles down 12 final competitors to just five to compete in the Final Battle in Las Vegas. All had their choice of weapons – an armory of Sexy Hair styling products such as Big Sexy Hair Spray & Play Harder and Big Sexy Spray & Stay. The results were stunning gravity-defying hairstyles.
“I was honored to have been asked to be a judge for this year’s Battle of the Strands competition,” said Rafe Hardy, artistic creative director for Sexy Hair. “The level of talent and creativity at this event is incredible and the type of work produced is nothing short of remarkable.”
Giving Rafe a hand were other judges: Kandee Johnson, Celebrity Makeup Artist, Lori Montoya, a Las Vegas High Roller Star and Fashion Designer, and Nick Verreos. Winners were selected in consideration of a variety of categories. The winning design was created by team Glam Alliance members Andrew Schmitz, Brenda Torre, and Crystal Mitchell from Minneapolis, who received the coveted Xtreme Salon 2012 title.
