Rick Battaglini, CFO of John Paul Mitchell Systems®, having logged more than 25 years of service in the professional hair care company, has won the “CFO of the Year” Award from Los Angeles Business Journal.
A panel of judges, including executives of large corporations, named Rick Battaglini the winner of the prestigious honor out of a field of 41 finalists.
“Rick has been with us since the beginning, and has been involved with almost every facet of the company,” said John Paul DeJoria, JPMS co-founder and CEO. “I want to offer him my sincerest thanks for all he does for the company, and we are thrilled to be celebrating this great honor with him. I am proud to call him my friend.”
When Battaglini began his career at JPMS in 1987, there was no computer system and no email, obliging him to bang out financial statements on a typewriter. The company eventually grew into a global leader in the professional beauty industry, with a brand name becoming a household name. Battaglini, whose career has covered positions from Controller to Vice President of Finance, to CFO, Treasurer, and Board Member, has honed his team and his department, driving the privately owned company’s bottom line profitability, cash flow and financial ratios to number among the best in any industry.
