Wella Professionals Celebrity Stylist Andy Lecompte accepts the 2012 Hair Stylist Of The Year from Nicole Richie
Wella Professionals Celebrity Stylist, Andy LeCompte is most likely one of the most sought after stylist in Hollywood, with a client portfolio bursting with celebrity names. So it was not such a surprise when the Style Awards’ Nominating Committee, comprised of esteemed individuals in the entertainment and fashion communities, had long-time friend and client Nicole Richie present him with the “Hair Stylist of the Year” honor at the 9th Annual Style Awards, held at The Stage at Lincoln Center on September 5th and to be aired on The Style Network on Friday, September 14th at 8pm ET/PT.
Andy got some important imprinting at a tender age, working at his sister’s salon, sweeping hair and answering phones. But the hairstyling bug bit hard, and by the age of 15 he was already doing photo shoots. After beauty school, he found a job at the age of 18 at Prive Salon in Los Angeles, where he began building a reputation for himself among the celebrity clientele.
Today, as Madonna’s “mane” man, Andy is currently on tour with the superstar. But given his true hair genius, today his regulars include such celebrities as Penelope Cruz, Salma Hayek, Nicole Richie, Fergie, Megan Fox, Katie Holmes, Rachel McAdams, Shakira, and Selena Gomez. He has also worked with some of the greatest photographers of our time, with his work appearing on the covers and in internationally renowned publications including Vogue, ELLE, Harpers Bazaar, Glamour, Vanity Fair, Rolling Stone, GQ and W.
