The announcement of the finalists in each category is the semi-climax of the North American Hairstyling Awards, crowning the creative royalty of the hairdressing industry.
The moment everyone has been waiting for has arrived, and the Professional Beauty Association (PBA) has officially decided the finalists of the 2012 edition of the NAHA, those who have made their mark in trendsetting and style through pure creativity and hard work.NAHA participants are given in 13 distinct categories, including Avant Garde, Contemporary Classic, Editorial Stylist, Haircolor, Master Hairstylist, Texture, Salon Design, Salon Team, Student Hairstylist, Makeup Artist, Salon MBA for salon owners, and all new for 2012, Newcomer Stylist of the Year. The highest honor is the coveted award for Hairstylist of the Year.
The next step is to save the date for Sunday, July 22, when the 2012 NAHA Award’s Ceremony will be open to the general public at the Mandalay Bay Resort in Las Vegas, offering much more than mere presentations. Creative and artistic presentations by Aveda, Cloud Nine, P&G and 2011 Hairstylist of the Year winner, Eli Mancha will also be featured. And this year, popular TV personality, E! Network’s Giuliana Rancic, will be the host and recipient of the PBA Beautiful Humanitarian Award. And for those unable to attend, the ceremony will also be broadcast live, via streaming video, at hairdesignertv.com.
This years jury included Vivienne Mackinder, 5-time NAHA winner, founder of HairDesignerTV.com, and editor-in-chief of MOD magazine;Tabatha Coffey, star of Bravo’s Tabatha’s Salon Takeover; Nicholas French, renowned UK stylist, author, and speaker; Damien Carney, prominent beauty industry educator, founder of hairstyling academy Damien Carney London, and NAHA finalist, as well as many more top hairstylists from around the world!
