NYFW How-To Get The Look: Joseph DiMaggio for Davines for S/S 2015 Eva Fehren

Wednesday, 17 September 2014 18:12

Lead stylist Joseph DiMaggio’s hair look for the Eva Fehren Spring and Summer 2015 collection came from the inspiring geometric shapes in the collection.

Eva’s collection features incredible geometric shapes and we wanted this to carry through in the hair look. Taking inspiration from a piece of dagger jewelry (necklace and earrings) in the collection, I created an homage through darted parting. Ultimately this look translated into what looked like an arrow with feathers in the back. We wanted it to be a style that looked sleek, clean and subtle, so as not to take away from the beautiful jewelry,” said DiMaggio.

Here’s How to Get The Look:

  1. Step 1: Apply a golf-ball size of Davines This Is a Volume Boosting Mousse throughout the hair and blow dry perfectly straight and smooth. (Volumizing Mousse has memory technology that will allow hair to stay smooth and keep in place.)
Step 2: Create two sharp parts that both start at the center point of the hairline and section out towards the crown, creating an elongated triangle that is 2 inches wide its base. Tie off to be revisited at Step 4, while the rest of the look is completed.
Step 3: Use a fine tooth comb to brush remaining hair into a sleek low ponytail at the nape of the neck and tie off with an elastic.
Step 4: Flat iron the triangle on top of the head section by section to ensure it is smooth and straight.
Step 5: Twist the top section of the hair all the way from the hairline to the crown, and then down to the ponytail, creating an arrowhead. Secure it to the low ponytail using a tie.
Step 6: Apply Davines This Is A Relaxing Moisturizing Fluid to hands and lightly touch palms over the whole look to keeping everything light.
Step 7: Finish look by applying Davines This is a Medium Hold Hairspray all over for shine and hold.
