Golden Globes 2014 full of XXL Glam!

From Cate Blanchett’s perfectly coiffed faux bob to the retro waves of Taylor Swift… Here at Estetica we reviewed the most jaw-dropping looks of The Golden Globes 2014, held in the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles.

The Golden Globes is one of the main stops in an actor’s career right before the Oscars. Which is why there was no hesitation for our star’s to go full out on the red carpet for the 71st annual Golden Globes. Accessories, gorgeous gowns, and fabulous hairstyles – the stars went all the way glam! A popular look for many of our celebrities, was plunging necklines and shiny finishes.

Taylor Swift looked old Hollywood glam with a gorgeous strapless black and red dress from Carolina Herrera, her short retro curls completed her glamorous look. One of the evening’s most daring looks was Emma Watson, which left everyone speechless! She stunned in Christian Dior Couture – her back was bare and she wore black trousers. Her hair was parted to the side and looked sleek in a low bun with a bold red lip, leaving her gown to take center stage.

Jennifer Lawrence looked lovely in her already famous pixie cut with a white strapless dress double belted in black, also of Christian Dior Couture. Lawrence succeeded in getting her second Golden Globe, this time for best supporting actress, for ‘American Hustle’, demonstrating her talent once again.

Tom Ford proved to be a popular designer choice, both Naomi Watts and Hayden Panettiere. Hayden Panettiere had her hair slicked back – super sexy! Naomi Watts looked radiant in a silver gown and did very little to hair and for her makeup, yet looked effortlessly beautiful.

Cate Blanchett, dressed in Armani Couture, opted for a perfectly coiffed faux bob. There seemed to be a divide for many hairstyles of the night – actress Jessica Chastain opted for a wind-swept hairstyle and dusty rose lip color work on the red carpet, some critics loved it while others did not. Actresses such as Kate Mara and Amber Heard also got the same divide in public opinion over their hairstyle choice – both actresses wore their hair fully collected in puffed-up pompadours.

Zooey Deschanel and Zoe Saldana were among some of our favorites of the night! Zooey looked timeless in her Oscar de la Renta ensemble – the perfect blend of vintage and modern glam! She wore her hair up in a romantic updo with a silk flower comb. Zoe looked beautiful as usual with a bright red pout and slicked back hair and bun.

Olivia Wilde glowed in a sparkly form fitting emerald gown by Gucci! She opted to wear her ombre hair down, in beach waves, to the side. It was perfect for her ultra-glam look.

Leonardo DiCaprio, Bradley Cooper, and Orlando Bloom were some of the best dressed males of the night. They all looked handsome and elegant in their tuxedo and bow ties, even though the wet curls effect of Bloom gave him a more casual air.

The red carpet also received some of the most beautiful and beloved couples in Hollywood, including Elsa Pataky, pregnant with her second child, and actor Chris Hemsworth. Channing Tatum looked handsome as well with wife Jenna Dewan; and Matthew McConaughey and his wife Camila Alves looked amazing as they posed together. Matthew wore a velvet green tuxedo and Camila Alves had a form fitting black sequin dress with her long brown curls cascading to the side.

The Golden Globes was once again presented by Tina Fey and Amy Poehler. ’12 years of slavery’ and ‘American Hustle’ were favorites of the night – with seven nominations each. The first, however, only took an award as best film drama. The second was the great winner of the night with three awards, including Best Musical film and comedy.
